Owner and winemaker, Rarig Ross, began his career in the wine industry in 2009 while working in the tasting room at Gainey Vineyards. He quickly realized his passion for wine production, and became an apprentice winemaker under Ryan Devolet at Refugio Ranch Vineyards. He’s worked in every facet of the wine industry; from the cellar, tasting room, and corporate office. In 2015, he began his own custom crush company, California Wine Company, that serves clients across the world and is still operating today.

Rarig and Ellery got married in 2016, and welcomed Ferris in 2019, and Fletcher in 2021. While Rarig had always dreamed of making wine under his own wine brand, the birth of his first son inspired him to pursue that dream. 

Rarig and Ellery visited Fredericksburg in June of 2020, while visiting custom crush clients and family. They immediately fell in love with the town and surrounding area, and knew that they wanted to raise there children in the community. By July of 2021, they headed out in a rented moving truck and began to renovate the current tasting room, and they’ve never looked back. This is the start of the Texas-sized dream.
